The Democracy & Belonging Forum’s Network Catalyzers Program supports selected Forum members in launching and growing their own virtual or in-person communities related to othering, belonging, bridging, and democracy.

These communities are entirely member-run, but are in part resourced, promoted, and supported by the Forum. In 2025, six communities (and seven catalyzers) were selected to participate, addressing topics as diverse as bridging in rural France, food insecurity in Texas, and intergenerational engagement among immigrant families.

As part of the yearlong program, selected catalyzers receive support and resources tailored to their community-building needs, including:

  • Monthly sessions to learn best practices in community-building and grapple with shared challenges with fellow community catalyzers

  • Mentorship from experienced community builders and programmatic support from the Forum’s Head of Community

  • An honorarium of 2.500,00 EUR gross for catalyzers of virtual communities or 5.000,00 EUR gross for in-person communities for the duration of the 12-month program

Scroll below to learn more about the selected 2025 Network Catalyzers and their communities. Together, we are building a network of communities that strengthen democracy and belonging, from the ground up.

Please note that this year is the inaugural year of the Network Catalyzers Program. We intend to continue this program in future years, dependent on funding and other resources. Please follow our enews to stay up to date about future opportunities regarding this program.
